Ted began acting in a 1977 episode of Family. From there, he appeared in many TV movies and series, including 74 episodes of Soap and 114 episodes of Blossom.
Behind the camera, Ted has directed programs since 1993, with an episode of Blossom. He directed multiple episodes of Blossom, Local Heroes, Smart Guy, I'm with Her, Crumbs, The Game, 'Til Death, Two and a Half Men, Rules of Engagement, and Everybody Hates Chris. Ted is best known for directing 45 episodes of Bill Lawrence's Spin City and 39 episodes of Less Than Perfect.
