Sam Lloyd was the actor who plays Ted Buckland on Scrubs.
Bio[]
Born in Vermont, Sam Lloyd Jr. was the son of Sam Lloyd Sr., and nephew of Christopher Lloyd of Back to the Future fame. Besides acting, Sam sings with his a cappella group The Blanks who have made many appearances in Scrubs as The Worthless Peons. He also plays the bass in the Beatles tribute group called The Butties together with Paul Perry.
Sam has appeared on Seinfeld, Malcolm In The Middle, The West Wing, Desperate Housewives, and The Drew Carey Show. As well as Cougar Town and Spin City (shows also created by Bill Lawrence). He has appeared in two Cougar Town episodes, "Something Good Coming" and "A One Story Town", once again as Ted Buckland.
- Death
On April 30, 2020, Lloyd passed away at age 56. He had been diagnosed in January 2019 with an inoperable brain tumor that originated in his lungs and further scans showed cancer in his liver, spine and jaw. He was remembered by Zach Braff as "one of the funniest actors I’ve ever had the joy of working with. Sam Lloyd made me crack up and break character every single time we did a scene together. He could not have been a kinder man. I will forever cherish the time I had with you, Sammy." Series creator Bill Lawrence posted "Thinking a lot about Sam Lloyd today. (Ted). Truly such a kind, sweet guy. He will be missed by so many."[1]
