Peggy was admitted to Sacred Heart Hospital for pneumonia. Her doctors, Elliot Reid and Denise Mahoney thought she was going to make a quick recovery. The recently retired Dr. Robert Kelso gave them advice on how to treat her, and told them that she and her husband were old friends of his. Peggy died suddenly, much to the surprise of Elliot and Denise. Bob Kelso told Elliot that she probably died because she was ready to be with her husband in the next life.
