- “Oh my God, Sabrina. You had better tell me that you just had laser eye surgery and they accidentally severed the muscle that enables you to hold that lid up, because you did not just wink at me!”— Dr. Cox
"My Fruit Cups" is the eighth episode of Scrubs' second season. J.D. and Turk's friendship is damaged when Turk keeps $100 of the $300 J.D. is working for. Elliot's father attempts to change her career to OB-GYN, and Elliot wants to make a stand. Dr. Cox is forced to choose between Julie Keaton (Heather Locklear) and Jordan when a pregnant Jordan comes to visit.
Synopsis[]
While J.D. and Turk steal food and toilet paper from the hospital and work extra shifts to cover expenses, Elliot is comfortable living off her father's money. When Turk finds an extra shift in pediatrics for him and J.D. he neglects to tell J.D. about a hundred dollar difference in price and keeps the money for himself. Upon finding this out, J.D. forces Turk out of the job, forcing him to ride around in an ambulance and a rift to form in their friendship.
When Elliot's father, Simon Reid comes to town, he tries to get Elliot to change her career into OB-GYN until Elliot stands up to him. He takes her off his support, causing Elliot to fend for herself and move out of her deluxe apartment.
Dr. Cox is growing comfortable with the hot pharmaceutical rep Julie Keaton. Jordan comes back, six months pregnant with another man's baby and tells Dr. Cox that she wants him back, forcing him to choose between her and Julie. Dr. Cox first goes with the immediate pleasure Julie provides, but after realizing that regardless of their problems he still loves Jordan, he picks Jordan.
During a conversation with Carla, J.D. realizes how committed Carla is to Turk and that Turk likely took the money because he and Carla are saving money for their life together. J.D. immediately goes to tell his best friend about it and Turk shares that he may ask Carla to marry him. Their friendship resolved, the group go out to dinner, despite the fact that they are hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt for medical school.

Quotes[]
- “The average resident owes over one hundred thousand dollars in med school loans, and makes about as much as a waiter. So you have to do things to make ends meet. Or, well... you know... ”— J.D.
- “This is the reason why your headache didn't go away: That's actually pronounced analgesic, not anal-gesic. Sir, the pills go in your mouth.”— Turk
- “Maybe the best thing to do is just stop trying to figure out where you're going, and enjoy where you're at.”— J.D.'s narration
