"My Fault" is the twentieth episode of Scrubs' third season. Dr. Kelso and Dr. Cox battle over offering full-body scans. J.D. and Danni break up again. Turk deals with the ramifications after someone is un-invited to his wedding. Elliot finds a new romantic partner after dumping Sean.
Synopsis[]
J.D. and Danni apathetically break off their relationship...again. J.D thinks it is weird that she calls out her own name in bed, but it turns out she is already seeing someone else (who also happens to be named Danny).
After many failed attempts to find Sean an apartment, he and Elliot just plan to move in together.
Turk is getting along swimmingly with Grace Miller in surgery. Carla freaks about all the last-second details for the wedding just a few weeks away. At lunch Turk tells her she can un-invite some people. This backfires when she un-invites Turk's boss Dr. Miller and she takes it out on him by making him "hold the fat flaps" during a surgery. After visiting the bakery Turk snaps at Carla, telling her that he's upset she doesn't care about what he thinks about the wedding. He finds out she was going to have a big screen TV at the reception and he realizes she had him in mind the entire time. He decides to put up with the angry Dr. Miller to make Carla happy.
Dr. Kelso asks Perry's opinion about offering full body scans at Sacred Heart. Dr. Cox tells them they are a terrible and deceitful idea but Kelso goes ahead and runs advertisements for them. Perry makes a bet with Dr. Kelso that no one will want to get one. The first patient to sign up is the hypochondriac Harvey Corman. Dr. Cox tries to convince him to not get the scan. When Harvey finds out that it is just about a bet he decides to get the scan no matter what. Later in the MRI room, Dr. Cox cedes his loss to Kelso in front of Corman. Dr. Cox then pleads with Harvey to not get the scan because it will only make him more paranoid about his health, and Harvey decides he is correct.
After seeing everyone else "go down swinging," J.D. finally decides to come clean about his feelings to Elliot. Moved by J.D.'s confession, Elliot breaks up with Sean, and chooses to be with J.D. As she curls up on the couch with him, J.D. comes to the horrifying realization that he doesn't want what he had been coveting for so long after all.

Trivia[]
- Janitor tells J.D. that he and Elliot aren't Ross and Rachel, initially making viewers think of the characters from the sitcom Friends. However, he is referring to two hospital employees who are dating, and have the same haircuts as the two Friends characters. Also, the apartment that Sean and Elliot almost move into is the same layout as Monica's apartment in Friends.
- The deep voice of the little boy is done by the director, Richard Wells.
- It is revealed that Turk's middle name is Duncan.
- When Mr. Corman comes in and says: "Hello, Laverne! Shirley," he is referencing the sitcom Laverne and Shirley, a spin-off of the show Happy Days. In Season Six when Laverne dies in the series she is replaced by her twin sister Shirley.
- The montage of various characters calling other characters' names at the beginning of the episode ("Turk! Kelso! Danny! Turk! Kelso! Danni!, Turk! Carla! Not here... Danni!") is a reference to The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
