Although Meghan is a very cheery person, sometimes her illness can get her down. She tries to keep a positive look on life. When she was admitted to New Sacred Heart, Denise Mahoney was assigned to be her doctor. Because Meghan was so vibrant, she asked Denise for a hug. Denise outsourced this to Lucy Bennett, who is much better at dealing with people and their emotions. Denise ordered some tests and meanwhile connected with Meghan's son Ryan Maroney. When Meghan's tests came back with bad news, Denise couldn't handle the emotional strain and distanced herself from both Maroneys. After passing the responsibility on to Lucy, Denise realized that she needed to confront this herself and connected to Ryan. ("Our Role Models")
