Kenny was a very cheerful cafeteria worker who was always polite and friendly to the staff. He was fired by Dr. Cox who was challenged by Dr. Kelso to make the budget cuts without firing someone, because he was the most recently hired employee. ("My Life in Four Cameras")
He was also a central character in "J.D.'s sitcom fantasy". In the fantasy, the hospital still has a budgetary problem, but rather than firing someone the hospital holds a talent show. Kenny shows up and sings "Isn't She Lovely" and wins $26,372 and gets to keep his job.
