John R. Kastl is the actor who plays Doug Murphy on Scrubs
Bio[]
John R. Kastl was born in Oklahoma and raised in the state of Texas. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he co-founded the sketch comedy troupe "Kaktabulz" and received a degree in both Biology and Drama.
John has appeared in Cold Case, Veronica Mars and opposite Patrick Swayze in The Beast. He can be seen in the movies War of the Worlds and Hulk.
John is now a practising lawyer in Chicago.

- When he broke both of his heels ski jumping, the writers incorporated this fact in My Drive-By as they believed it fit in with the character's clumsiness.
