Born James Joseph Alaimo III, Jay has worked in many positions in and around New York city and Hollywood. He worked as a grip for the 2000 film Girlfight. In 2001, he wrote a short film called Pretzel (starring Sam Rockwell) which he directed, produced and acted in as well. Jay also wrote the feature film Slingshot (The Weinstein Co. 2007) which he directed and produced. In 1999, Jay was a producer for the film Tide. He also worked on the production of the feature "Chlorine".
