When Janitor was a young boy, his mother threw away his favorite teddy bear because his room was too messy. It was that day that he realized he wanted to be a janitor. Also she made Janitor eat off the floor when he kept throwing his food on it. ("My Butterfly")

- It it unknown if this is "true" within the canon of Scrubs, but because it only happens via flashback to Janitor, it is assumed that it is true.
