Synopsis[]

Elliot and Molly talk

It's two weeks after Turk and Carla's wedding and they are returning from their honeymoon.

After J.D. broke her heart, Elliot has difficulty integrating her social life with Turk and Carla without the involvement of J.D.. Feeling left out, she decides to make new friends and eventually finds companionship in the new attending psychiatrist Molly Clock.

After Turk's car is destroyed Carla asks him to pick out a car. She reasons that every now and then she has to let Turk make a decision that is meaningless to her, when she senses Turk is getting upset. The plan backfires when Turk purchases three scooters instead of a car. At first she is accepting of the new automobiles but she later erupts, throwing Turk's keys across the room to reveal her feelings about the scooters. In the end both Carla and Turk learn that their marriage is going to be incredibly shaky if they are not willing to compromise.

J.D.'s patient, Mr. Radbury, has pain issues but keeps refusing physical therapy. Dr. Clock, who calls J.D. "Johnny" (which he hates) offers her help with the patient but J.D. replies that there is only one doctor who he turns to for help. When Dr. Cox enters to assist, he very callously states to Mr. Radbury that without physical therapy, his condition will not improve. Dr. Cox's harsh tone motivates both J.D. and his patient to conduct the physical therapy treatments, which is later to be revealed by Dr. Clock as a form of reverse psychology.

Janitor gets J.D.

J.D. gets his new scooter and drives around the Janitor singing "ring around the Janitor, pocket full of...zanitor", and J.D. questions the large X drawn on the floor, but Janitor questions him about his "ugly face". Janitor then concludes that, since J.D.'s residency is done, there is no more reason to torment him. Later, however, Janitor chains J.D.'s bike to a rail, meaning that as J.D. drives the chain tightens and suddenly stops the scooter, causing J.D. to fly off and to land on the large "X" that J.D. had wondered about before . The Janitor appears and tells him that everything for J.D. "is just beginning".

Trivia[]

Thewolverines

The Wolverines.

  • This episode takes place two weeks after the Season Three finale.
  • J.D., Turk and Carla's scooters are the same color as their scrubs: blue, green and pink respectively. TNG only makes this scooter in three colors: blue, green and black, so the pink one was custom painted.
  • In the scene where Dr. Cox nearly gives J.D. a hug, the cameraman is clearly visible in the reflection off the window in the background.
  • In the scene where J.D. edits the shift nurse assignment board so that the top nurse gets "Al Choholic," when the camera changes and then changes back, the name has changed to "Dr. Ass Face."
  • This is the first episode in which the Wolverines appear.
  • In this episode it is revealed that the music playing in the show may be in J.D.'s head like many other things, namely the sad melody.
  • This is the first season premiere not to be written by Bill Lawrence.
  • In "My Finale" Dr. Cox repeats his speech, 'I suppose I could riff a list of things that I care as little about as our last week of residency: every hybrid car, every talk show, everything on the planet, everything in the solar system, everything, everything, everything, everything, everything, everything, every-everything that exists past present & future, in discovered and undiscovered dimensions! and Hugh Jackman!' when reading a book that J.D made for him as a leaving present.
