Bio[]
D.L. was born in Los Angeles and has 3 siblings. He grew up in L.A.'s South Central and joined the Bloods gang after getting kicked out of high school. He turned his life around after his cousin was shot, and he got a job where he met his wife. She convinced him to try comedy, with which he broke out into the comedy scene on BET. D.L. is known for his starring roles in the TV series The Hughleys, which he created and wrote for, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. He has also appeared in the movies Scary Movie 3, Chasing Papi, Inspector Gadget, Soul Plane, and Spy School. D.L. has also been a writer for Premium Blend and Weekends at the DL, among other projects. In 2008 D.L. began hosting the CNN show D.L. Hughley Breaks the News.
