Craig, a previous patient of Dr. Cox, was admitted to Sacred Heart. Although Dr. Cox was recently appointed to the position of Chief of Medicine, he still wanted to personally treat Craig. J.D. offered to help, but Cox ignored him. When Craig was diagnosed with enlarged lymph nodes, he was afraid. Dr. Cox promised to be at his surgery. When it came time for the surgery, Cox was too busy and forgot. After the successful removal, Craig was upset and didn't want to talk to Dr. Cox anymore. Later, Dr. Cox told Craig he would not leave the room until Craig forgave him. ("My Lawyer's in Love")
