Colin Hay is a musician. He appears as himself in three episodes of Scrubs performing songs in two of them.
About[]
When J.D. is on his way to work on the first day after the fallout in the cafeteria caused by Jordan, he passes by a man (played by Hay) playing "Overkill" on guitar. To his bewilderment, the man seems to follow him around for the rest of the day even into the hospital, appearing as a patient and even in the morgue—representing the change in relationship dynamic with J.D.'s coworkers from the fallout. Later, when Dr. Cox is waiting for the man to finish his song so he can harass J.D., he gets impatient and smashes Colin's guitar. Colin doesn't mind and says "I have other songs" ("My Overkill"). He later also appears in one of J.D.'s fantasies, which actually explains the "real" meaning of the song "Down Under" ("My Hard Labor").
Colin Hay appears in the episode "My Finale", as a brief cameo. His music can also be heard in many episodes of Scrubs.
Bio[]
Born June 29, 1953 in Kilwinning, Scotland, Colin has enjoyed music his entire life. In the late 1960s, Colin moved to Australia where he and some other musicians formed the group "Men at Work", which became an international sensation in the 1980s with songs like "Overkill", "Down Under", and "Who Can it Be Now?", all which were composed by Hay. In the 1990s, Men at Work disbanded and Colin Hay began a solo career. After moving to Los Angeles, Colin released several albums. Colin has also appeared in many movies, including The Wild, The Uninvited and The Country Bears.
